CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

To facilitate the learning and teaching process for students at undergraduate and postgraduate level. To lecture, conduct research and contribute to engagement in line with the core functions and values of the university.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
|
- To facilitate the learning and teaching processes and outcomes in the Tourism Department.
- To conduct research.
- To supervise research.
- To perform administration.
- To take responsibility for Programme Co-ordination.
- To partake in Engagement opportunities in line with the Tourism Department's interest and involvement.

CORE COMPETENCIES
|
|
- Sound knowledge in the theory and application of Tourism.
- Experience of facilitating learning and teaching at undergraduate level and/or postgraduate level.
- Potential to contribute to the creation of knowledge by virtue of publications and the supervising of postgraduate research studies.

|
REQUIREMENTS
|
|
In order to be considered for appointment to this post at Lecturer level, the potential candidate must have a relevant Masters' degree in Tourism. The candidate requires minimum work experience of two years lecturing at a Higher Education institution, within the field of Tourism. Industry involvement serves as a strong recommendation.
