Legal & Compliance Expert

An international online gambling operator have an exciting job opportunity for a Legal & Compliance Expert to join their team in Cape Town. You will be responsible for ensuring that appropriate processes, systems and structures are in place to manage compliance with the Company’s legal and regulatory obligations, in particular regarding online compliance/the online betting sector. Your key job responsibilities as the Legal & Compliance Expert in Cape Town will include:

• Ensure compliance with applicable legislation/regulation in every territory of operation
• Communicate and escalate any significant compliance/non compliance issues i.e. irregular activities and or potential issues related to policies or systems to the Operations Leader and any other stakeholders. Here it will be expected that you lead the investigations and remediations promptly and effectively and provide solutions thereof
• Build policies and implement a sound compliance and governance framework within the business
• Ensuring all controls are in place to mitigate risk within the business
• Provide legal input to the business on necessary controls and systems
• Responsible for Commercial and Legal agreements
• Implementation of relative ACT’s and regulations
• Formulate and implement Risk Management & Compliance Processes (RMCP)
• Determine Statutory and Management requirements applicable
• Identify and interpret applicable compliance requirements
• Assess the possible impact of regulatory development on operations of the business
• Implement, monitor and ensure compliance with relevant standards, processes and best practices.
• Design and compile compliance monitoring plans and compliance risk management plans (CRMP’s) as required by relevant legislation
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with relevant internal parties including the coordination across compliance departments ensure effective coverage of compliance risk
• Oversee licensing conditions and codes of practice are adhered to for the licenses held by the company
• Engaging in communication with the relevant regulatory authorities as necessary to represent the company’s interests
• Carrying out a programme of monitoring for compliance risks
• Liaising and maintaining close working relationships with third party companies involved in the operations of the business’s licences
• Assisting in ad hoc duties as and when required
• Review marketing materials, presentations and websites to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Requirements for this Legal & Compliance Expert job in Cape Town:
