SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a suitably qualified and experienced Legal and Compliance Officer in Durban.

POSITION INFO:

Main Job Purpose:

Ensure that Engineering Team, Test Team & Manufacturing Team are kept informed with details of the latest standards and legal requirements of products as they are being developed.

Develop compliance management plans to ensure that existing products remain compliant with required standards.

Job Specification:

Assist technical teams by doing research towards legal and technical standards that products and manufacturing facilities need to comply with.

Assist with risk management of certification & validation stages of projects.

Assist with providing the validation team with documentation of the standards as well as procedures to follow when testing products.

Hold responsibility of keeping teams informed about changes in local and international standards such as Legal Metrology acts, Health & Safety standards, and STS prepayment standards.

Assist business development managers by doing research towards standards in tenders.

Assist with writing SOP documents used to regulate the procedures that need to be followed to certify products.

Education and Experience:

LLB or Compliance Officer diploma.

Report writing essential.

Experience with research towards standards such as STS, NRCS 1529, IEC 6068, IEC 60950, JASWIC, WRAS, AS 3565, RED 220, ISO 4064, OIML R49 and CE declaration will be valued, but is not essential
