Legal Accountant

At least 6 years previous experience in an accounting environment would be essential for this role and preferably 2 years supervisory experience.  Knowledge of attorney's trust accounts and BEE reporting would be advantageous.  Must be proficient in Pastel and MS Office and ideally have knowledge / experience of a legal software package.  

Duties include:

• Prepare reconciliations including, but not limited to bank, creditors, VAT and payroll
• Submission of monthly VAT and EMP returns and bi-annual EMP501 submissions
• Assistance with preparation of monthly payroll
• Maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data
• Preparation of monthly and annual BEE reports
• Preparation of accurate and timely management reports
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
• Assist in the preparation of audit files
• Assist in managing the attorneys trust account
