SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a legal bookkeeper to join their team.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain Attorneys' Trust and Business Accounts Process daily trust and business account transactions Perform daily, weekly and monthly bank reconciliations Process trust transfers, EFT payments and journal entries Prepare and submit VAT returns Manage creditors and debtors reconciliations Allocate receipts and payments accurately to client matters Process conveyancing financial transactions Prepare month-end reports and management accounts Assist with annual Trust Audits and external auditors Ensure compliance with Legal Practice Council (LPC) Trust Accounting requirements Liaise with banks, clients and internal conveyancing teams Maintain accurate financial records and reporting Minimum Requirements Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Legal Bookkeeper within a Law Firm Previous experience in a Conveyancing Practice is essential Strong knowledge of Attorney Trust Accounting Understanding of Legal Practice Council (LPC) Trust Accounting Rules Experience with legal accounting software (Ghost Practice, AJS, Lexpro or similar advantageous) Experience with VAT, reconciliations and trust compliance Excellent Microsoft Excel skills Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Excellent communication and organisational skills
