JOB SUMMARY:
Urgently looking for a well-experienced Legal Claims Specialist in Randburg with extraordinary people skills to build strong and lasting relationships. Must have an LLB Degree with exceptional legal claims knowledge within the Engineering industry.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualifications and min requirements

Insurance related qualification
Legal Degree (LLB)
Minimum 3 years commercial and personal lines claims experience
In-depth knowledge of insurance business and practices
In-depth knowledge of financial principles and processes
Sound knowledge of current and incoming developments in the marketplace
Good understanding of relevant legislation
Good knowledge of organisational policy and procedure

Effective Handling of Claims & Enquiries

Register all new claims within 24 hours
Liaise with brokers
Appoint Loss Adjusters / Investigators / Assessors when required
Assessment of claims / review of documents
Report all claims above mandate to Compass Claims within 24 hours
Resolve queries
Consult with Management on claims matters when required
Ensure that authorisation of claims above mandate, does not occur without Compass’s approval
Ensure that all substantiating documentation for claims above mandate is provided to Compass at all times
Effective Application of TCF Principles
Communicate with Underwriting when required
Request payment from Finance timeously and provide proof of payments to broker

Effective Supervision of Recoveries

Merit assessment, send possible recoveries to recovery agent, liaise with recovery agent until finalisation.
Obtain regular updates

Responsibilities

Stakeholder engagement (internal and external)
Daily communication and problem solving with internal clients and external stakeholders.
Review of new legislation and amendments
Keeping up to date with legal requirements and changes to relevant legislation within the industry eg POPIA compliance, data security and quality
