Level 2 - Network Engineer

We are recruiting a Level 2 Network Engineer for a permanant opportunity in Gauteng.

Role Objective:

Participates in network and server technology upgrade or expansion projects, including installation of hardware and software and integration testing.

Communicates with the Infrastructure, Technical Services, Engineering and IS Operations teams to determine network and server needs. Develop and document conceptual, logical, or physical cabinet and equipment layout designs.

 

Qualification Required:

• HP / Aruba ACSP â?? Aruba Certified Switching Professional
• Huawei HCIP â?? Datacom â?? Advanced Routing Switching Technology

Preferred Qualification:

• Any additional HP / Aruba certifications including Wi-Fi and ClearPass Certifications
• Additional Huawei Certifications including Wi-Fi Certifications
• Firewall Certifications
• Ability to do Wi-Fi Surveys via Ekahau or similar software 
• Ability to work as part of a team

Experience required:

• At least 5-yearsâ?? experience in routing and switching.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Evaluate designs to determine the most efficient and effective solution.
• WAN, LAN, TCP/IP, CDP, Routing Protocols (RIP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS), Access
• Control List (ACL), Network Address Translation (NAT) and WLA

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Project Implementation
• Daily Network related calls.
• Hardware Break-fix.
• Troubleshooting client issues and identifying problem areas and / or Hardware.
• Wireless site surveys and network designs.
• Respond and resolve requests / faults logged internally and externally under direct supervision.
• Rack, Stack and cabling of Datacentre equipment.
• Perform requests assigned through internal tracking system, work orders, special projects as assigned by Manager.
• Keen to do all certification and training to upskill  where required.
• Maintain Data Centre inventory.
• Work closely with teams throughout the  organization.
• Work closely with 3rd party service providers.
