Life Claims Assessor

Insurance company is seeking to hire a Life Claims Assessor.

Responsibilities

• Obtain claim documents
• Prepare claims forms and related documents and review them for completeness.
• Assessment of, death, disability, critical illness, and salary protection claims
• Review information regarding the policy information and/or sale to approve or decline the claim
• Contract insured or other involved persons to obtain missing information
• Communicate claim status with claimant throughout the process
• Liaise with underwriting on any queries related to claims
• Calculate the amount of the claim and provide supporting information for payment of the claim
• Ensure that the claim is paid within the stipulated agreement
• Completion of the necessary documentation to finalise a claim
• Keep customer information private
• Record keeping of claim documents
• Report on claims
• Treating customers fairly

Requirements:

• Matric with at least 2 years’ experience in a claims assessing role
• Comfortable with using technology and systems
• Must have an understanding of life Underwritten insurance products
• A good understanding of medical underwriting
