Light Designer

SUMMARY:
Seeking a Simulations/Lighting Designer to join our technical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed lighting designs and simulations for a wide range of projects, from commercial buildings and industrial facilities to architectural and landscape lighting. Proficiency in lighting simulation software, such as Dialux or Relux, IS ESSENTIAL.

Requirements:

• A qualification in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Technology, Interior Design, or a related field is essential.
• Proven experience as a Lighting Designer or in a similar role.
• Solid understanding of lighting principles, photometric data, and industry standards.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and electrical drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in lighting design, technology, and industry standards (e.g., SANS and CIE).
• Collaborate with the product management team to provide feedback on product performance and features.
• Conduct on-site measurements and evaluations as needed to verify design performance.
• Provide technical expertise and support to the sales and project management teams.
• Assist clients in selecting the most suitable LED lighting products for their specific applications.
• Prepare detailed lighting design reports, photometric data, and bill of materials for proposals and tender submissions.
