POSITION INFO:

A well-established law firm based in Johannesburg is looking to employ an experienced Litigation Associate / Senior Associate to join their organisation. The candidate will be working as an associate / senior associate in a team with a specialty in the field of Health Care and Life Sciences.

Requirements

• Regulatory work in the healthcare and life sciences industry including knowledge of the Consumer Protection Act, Protection of Personal Information Act, foodstuffs legislation, Medicines & related Substances Act and regulations under that Act, the Health Professions Act and related legislation, including medical profession ethical rules and guidelines, the National Health Act
• Matters before various tribunals and regulatory authorities including the Health Professions Council of South Africa and the Council for Medical Schemes
• Very strong on written work and opinion writing
• Very strong on administrative and constitutional law
• Very strong commercial litigation experience
• Demonstrate expert administrative and project management skills

Academic, technical and working experience requirements:

• Must be an admitted attorney
• At least 3 - 5 years post-articles experience in regulatory matters and associated litigation
• Excellent computer skills
