Localization Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Lighting Manufacturing industry, has an EE opportunity available for a Localization Engineer in the Kariega, Eastern Cape area.

POSITION INFO:


Requirements:

• National Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Proven track record with the localization of PCB’s and Wiring harness.
• At least five (5) years’ experience in an Electrical(LT)/Electronics field.
• Project management experience.
• Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project
• ERP software, e.g SYSPRO/SAP
• Gerber file format software
• E-CAD Software
• Extensive experience in Printed Circuit Boards as well as Flexible PCB’s. The layout, layers and design data associated thereto (e.g Gerber Data)
• Good understanding of wiring diagrams associated with wiring harnesses and PCB’s
• Experience in CAN BUS systems and the programming of LED control modules used in automotive vehicles/lighting
• Working knowledge and experience in EMC test requirements. Digital, Analogue and RF circuits design (e.g EMC noise).

Duties:

• Ability to analyze electronics and the drawings provided by designers and confirm feasibility of localization
• Liaise with electronics supplier and developers on technical characteristics, potential improvements, cost saving initiatives and testing requirements
• Management of localization projects within the given timeline and ensure alternatives are developed on time, to the correct quality level and in budget
• To assist Development Department/Quality Department with root cause analysis and potential failure modes on various electronic components used with lighting devices
• Ensure testing and technical requirements are met with localized components
