About the Lodge
A privately owned, luxury coastal lodge in
Simonstown is seeking an experienced and hands-on
Lodge Manager to oversee all aspects of lodge operations. The successful candidate will ensure exceptional guest experiences, smooth daily operations, and effective team management while upholding the brand’s high standards in hospitality and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all lodge departments including front of house, housekeeping, kitchen, maintenance, and guest services
- Deliver a personalised, seamless guest experience from arrival to departure
- Supervise, train, and mentor all staff members; manage rosters and performance
- Ensure all lodge facilities are in excellent condition and maintained regularly
- Oversee stock control, ordering, and supplier management
- Handle guest feedback and complaints with professionalism and efficiency
- Prepare and manage budgets, reporting directly to the owners or head office
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and labour regulations
- Plan and oversee special events, private functions, and seasonal guest activities
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in lodge or hospitality management
- Relevant qualification in hospitality, tourism, or hotel management
- Strong leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Hands-on management style with a high level of attention to detail
- Financial acumen and experience in budget and cost control
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and lodge/hospitality management software
- Valid South African driver’s license
- South African citizenship or valid work permit
