Overview - What the Role entails

The lodge manager / couple will be responsible for overall management of a new 9 room luxury lodge, bistro and activity centre. This involves:

Welcoming guests and demonstrating enthusiasm for the property, area and experiences
Monitoring hospitality service, housekeeping, kitchen, and maintenance standards within the lodge
Organise and plan daily activities and experiences with guests on arrival and each evening
Hosting and managing events
Collaborating with finance and operations on yearly budgets & operate in a cost effective manner within these parameters
Managing daily, weekly and monthly administrative tasks
Ensuring staff cycles, welfare and admin is up to date
Disciplinary actions as required
Communicate with operations and lodge team to ensure the smooth running of the property
Assist with all areas of the lodge as needed to ensure property is staffed and guests are hosted

Qualifications / Experience Required

A minimum of 5 years management experience
Mature, well presented, professional, well travelled and friendly
Interest in natural areas and activities associated with this location
Own transport and drivers’ licence (essential)
Wine and Food knowledge
Excellent guest relations and passionate about hospitality and service
Ability to multitask, think on your feet and being flexible to changing nature of the business
Good knowledge of area
Ability or organise and plan effectively
Attention to detail
South African citizenship or valid work permit
