SUMMARY:
Looking for a hands on logistics specialist with experience in the freight/cargo/transport/logistics industries.

POSITION INFO:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tracking assigned shipments to ensure successful delivery of logistics services
Handling external logistics suppliers, warehouse operations, clearing agents and freight service providers to ensure successful delivery of jobs on time and in specification to satisfy client requirements
Ensure clearance documentation provided by clients is proactively analyzed before arrival of cargo and ensure that shipping methods comply with rules, regulations and applicable laws
Accurate and timely provision of information and resolution of queries, verifying and meeting established deadlines
Following up on customs pre clearances, load planning, cargo loading and transport allocation
Make sure that empty containers are returned to the shipping line nominated depots
Prepare accurate and timely reports as required and update the company’s ERP systems
Work in accordance with all company policies, procedures and processes
Travel to physical client and supplier sites
Inspecting deliveries for misplaced orders or damaged goods

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

2-3years’ experience in a similar role
Knowledge of Port, Shipping, CFS and border Operations
Solid knowledge in customs clearance processes in common market for eastern Africa region
Good communication, interpersonal and IT skills
