SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Logistics Coordinator (Container Department).

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12
Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Shipping, International Trade or similar
Previous experience in freight forwarding / logistics
Experience with Navis
Willing to take calls after hours

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for streamlining inbound & outbound freight, client & carrier communication, problem-solving, and order management within the company’s container department
Assistance in the training of new recruits, recruitment of transporters and freight forwarders, and management of relationships through timely communication
Daily administrative duties, including costing & development of CTOs
Successful management of stakeholders through concise relationship building, development of contingency plans, and development of strong relationships
Management of fleet & stakeholders with an average of 60 container loads a day
Using Microsoft Suite to store all load data and various other functions
Negotiate rates with transporters
Adding new transporters to our existing book and ensuring GIT insurance is in place
Route planning and Management of all collections and deliveries
Take responsibility for loading of export produce
