Logistics Manager

SUMMARY:
My client is seeking a Logistics Manager for their manufacturing site in the south-east of Johannesburg.

POSITION INFO:

• Plans, directs and coordinates all logistics activities at site Nigel to deliver products on time in a cost efficient way and in compliance with laws, regulations and group directives. incl. planning, replenishment, warehousing, in -house delivery to production, order management, etc. for Finished Good manufacturing.
• Organize and manage the logistics teams through objectives settings and follow up, talents identification and development/training plans implementation
• Responsible for the physical material flow and the storage of all materials at site Nigel, including raw materials, packaging, intermediates
• Responsible for the validation of the rough-cut production planning as well as evaluation, adjustment and coordination of the detailed planning for Production on site with reference to the Demand Plan, supplied by Supply Chain.
• Responsible for the planning and on time purchasing of local; global and intercompany raw-materials and packaging.
• Steers the tolling operations for formulation and packing and ensures supply of the respective products to customers.
• Drive continuous improvement / ensure competitiveness thru LEAN approach and appropriated KPI, as well for digitalization and project management
• Prepare and follow up the budget of related costs centers and resources for safe and efficient logistics operations
• Ensure operations execution are compliant with safety, employee health, quality and environmental laws and policies
• Communicate, ask and provide feedback with main stakeholders (internal and external)

Experience & Qualifications

Relevant Tertiary Qualification

• Experience in relevant SAP modules; Systems and Tools i.e. SAP, PBC & P4S, ERP, MS Office
• Key competencies: Customer focus, results orientation, collaboration, agility, decision making
• Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and work independently in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to address and drive problem solving with a sense of urgency.
• Ability to lead a team – 3-5 years supervisory experience
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing requirements on a regular basis
• Ability to work under pressure with tight timelines.
• Excellent analytical skills
