POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Manage and coordinate daily logistics and fleet operations. Oversee the movement and transportation of raw materials, biomass and finished products. Manage the company's vehicle and fleet operations, ensuring vehicles are available, safe and properly maintained. Coordinate vehicle scheduling, routing and utilisation to optimise operational efficiency. Monitor fleet maintenance, servicing, repairs and licensing requirements. Manage external transporters and logistics service providers where applicable. Monitor fuel usage, vehicle costs and overall fleet operating expenses. Ensure compliance with relevant transport, road safety, health and safety requirements. Manage and monitor driver performance, including adherence to company policies and safety procedures. Investigate and address vehicle incidents, breakdowns and operational delays. Maintain accurate fleet, transport and logistics records and reports. Monitor logistics performance and identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved efficiency. Coordinate with production, procurement, warehouse and other departments to ensure uninterrupted material flow. Manage logistics-related suppliers and service providers. Ensure effective planning of deliveries and collections in line with operational requirements. Provide regular reports to management on fleet performance, logistics costs, utilisation and operational issues. Minimum Requirements Grade 12 \/ Matric. Relevant qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport Management or a related field will be advantageous. Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a Logistics \/ Fleet Management role, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, forestry, agriculture or related environment. Proven experience managing fleet operations and drivers. Experience with transport planning, vehicle scheduling and fleet maintenance. Strong knowledge of logistics processes and transport operations. Valid Code 8 driver's licence. Computer literate, including Microsoft Office. Strong administrative, organisational and problem-solving skills.
