Our client, a leader in the packaging industry is seeking a highly experienced Maintenance & Technical Manager to join their team based in Durban.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

• Matric
• Mechanical Engineering Qualification (Degree)
• Trade Test (Fitter)
• Minimum 5 Years experience in Packaging/Manufacturing

MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS 

Machine Maintenance

• oversee maintenance staff
• Assign tasks according to plan priorities
• Root cause analysis
• Order required spares 

Oversee shift captains/setters 

• Discuss any issues experienced with achieving targets and solve with maintenance team

Breakdowns

• Address as per plan requirements

Planned Maintenance

• Design service schedule 
• Train staff to perform service 

Tagging 

• Design program
• Assign tasks

Lubrication 

• Design program 
• Assign tasks
• Daily/monthly/weekly

Cleaning 

• Ensure all machines are cleaned as per the schedule 
• House keeping
• Bring back OEM spec where required

Automation 

• Find ways to reduce staffing

Process improvement

• Packaging methods
• Process flows 
• Manning 

Other 

• Health and safety 
• Lifting equipment
• Compressor
• Maintain certification requirements
