Our client, a leader in the packaging industry is seeking a highly experienced Maintenance & Technical Manager to join their team based in Durban.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Matric
Mechanical Engineering Qualification (Degree)
Trade Test (Fitter)
Minimum 5 Years experience in Packaging/Manufacturing

MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS

Machine Maintenance

oversee maintenance staff
Assign tasks according to plan priorities
Root cause analysis
Order required spares

Oversee shift captains/setters

Discuss any issues experienced with achieving targets and solve with maintenance team

Breakdowns

Address as per plan requirements

Planned Maintenance

Design service schedule
Train staff to perform service

Tagging

Design program
Assign tasks

Lubrication

Design program
Assign tasks
Daily/monthly/weekly

Cleaning

Ensure all machines are cleaned as per the schedule
House keeping
Bring back OEM spec where required

Automation

Find ways to reduce staffing

Process improvement

Packaging methods
Process flows
Manning

Other

Health and safety
Lifting equipment

Maintain certification requirements
