Job Overview: As a Supply and Material Analyst in an automotive steel division, you will play a critical role in optimizing supply chain processes and ensuring efficient material management. Your primary responsibilities will include analysing supply and demand trends, coordinating with suppliers, and implementing strategies to maintain adequate inventory levels. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of automotive steel supply chain dynamics.
Responsibilities:
- Analyse supply and demand patterns, market trends, and customer forecasts to optimize inventory levels.
- Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to develop accurate demand forecasts and procurement plans.
- Monitor inventory levels, track material usage, and initiate replenishment orders to ensure uninterrupted supply.
- Coordinate with suppliers to negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure favourable supply agreements.
- Evaluate supplier performance and conduct periodic supplier assessments to ensure reliability and quality.
- Implement inventory management strategies, including just-in-time (JIT) and vendor-managed inventory (VMI) approaches.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement within the supply chain.
- Analyse material utilization, waste reduction, and production efficiency to enhance overall supply chain performance.
- Coordinate logistics and shipping activities to ensure timely delivery of materials to production facilities.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports related to supply chain activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5 or more years’) in supply chain analysis or material planning, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of automotive steel materials, production processes, and supply chain dynamics.
- Proficiency in using supply chain management software and advanced Excel skills for data analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and suppliers.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulations related to material sourcing and quality is advantageous.
