MECHANICAL DRAFTSMAN

SUMMARY:
requires a driven and experienced Mechanical Draftsmen to join our design engineering team.

POSITION INFO:

Ø  Assist Design Engineers in translating CAD models into manufacturing data packs.

Ø  Develop detailed manufacturing drawings for projects.

Ø  Develop detailed layout and installation drawings for projects.

Ø  Develop detailed pneumatic and hydraulic schematics for projects.

Ø  Develop service centred mechanical maintenance manuals.

Ø  Update and complete the Engineering Bill of Materials to a Manufacturing Bill of Materials.

Ø  Manage engineering change management activities.

Ø  Interface with Design Engineers, Project Management and Production Managers to find optimal manufacturing methods for components and sub-assemblies.

Ø  Manage manufacturing data and optimise manufacturing data packs for lean manufacturing.

Ø  Issue formal requests to the Procurement Department from the Manufacturing Bill of Materials.

Ø  Verify design details and recommend modifications as needed according to company standards and best practice.

Ø  Coordinate with manufacturing to support, guide and resolve any issues related to design.

Ø  Ensure all engineering and manufacturing data adheres to company engineering standards, ISO, SABS and Customer Standards.
