SUMMARY:
Calling all Machine Fitters in Cape Town and surrounds

POSITION INFO:

My client, a leading and well-known manufacturing company based in Maitland, Cape Town requires a competent and qualified Machine Fitter to join their team.

This position is reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader.

JOB OBJECTIVE:

The incumbent needs to excel in fault finding and proactively repair machinery as executing preventive maintenance tasks while following safe work procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Qualified Artisan. ESSENTIAL

• Engineering theory NQF 3.

• 3 – 5 years previous machine fitting experience.

• Good technical knowledge of drawings, equipment, and machinery.

ISO 9001/45001 OHS experience and experience with CNC maintenance and repair.

• English and Afrikaans

Must be able to work on “stand-by” and overtime/weekends on short notice.
Must be Cfiminal Clear
Must be Cape Town based or be willing to relocate possibly at your own cost

MAIN TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide accurate reports of all maintenance done.

• Repairing malfunctioning mechanical systems.

• Collaborate with other fitters on large-scale projects and electricians.

• Able to analyse and interpret blueprints for mechanical systems.

• Constructing structural components from raw materials.

• Inspecting fabricated components to ensure that they are the correct size.

• Conducting testing on malfunctioning systems to determine the root cause of the malfunction.

• Replacing damaged or defective components as needed on systems.

• Adhering to all worksite safety rules and regulations.
