JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Machinery Technician for a permanent vacancy based in Meadowdale, Gauteng.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

Grade 12 with an Electrical or Mechanical qualification (Diploma)
At least 5 years’ experience handling machine maintenance and troubleshooting in a fast paced environment
Must have experience with gears / sprockets / pumps
Must have a good knowledge of technical phrases and perfect command of English
Must have good knowledge of SA areas and a valid Code 8 license
Must be willing to travel at least 1 week out of every 5 / 6 weeks, including outside SA, therefore a valid SA passport is a requirement, or able to get one at short notice
Cross training on the machinery will be given
Must be computer literate and candidates meeting the requirements who are available with short notice will be given preference
Clear criminal record and contactable reference to verify work ability
Candidates residing in either Edenvale / East Rand preferred
Must be medically fit to travel both local & internationally

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

Train users on machinery which the company sells to different clients
Installations, repairs and general maintenance of various machinery in various areas at client premises
Able to work in a fast paced work environment
Travel throughout SA to clients for inspections
Carry out workshop training sessions
Handle both mechanical and electrical system maintenance on the machines
Be willing to work occasional weekends when required for deadlines to be met

Salary: R15 000.00 – R20 000.00 per month (Dependent on qualifications) + Company Vehicle for work purposes and company phone
