POSITION INFO:
Main purpose of the job: Perform general maintenance, security and upkeep of the building and facilities within the unit Location: VIDA - Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital Key performance areas: Monitor VIDA parking areas and Clinics Monitor access points Perform routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs Assist in the maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues Maintain the cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools and supplies Investigate and report security breaches Opening and locking of Unit facilities Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and management Ensure compliance with safety regulations and unit policies Assist in managing waste disposal and recycling processes Perform general cleaning duties, such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting Assist with landscaping and outdoor maintenance as needed Support the Maintenance Manager\/Supervisor in any additional tasks as required Required minimum education and training: Matric certificate or equivalent Required minimum work experience: Previous experience in maintenance or a related field is preferred Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repair skills Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities: Ability to operate hand and power tools Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Excellent organizational and time management abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication skills Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects TO APPLY: Only if you do meet the minimum job requirements and experience as mentioned above, you may submit a detailed updated CV.
