SUMMARY:
Maintenance / Depot Supervisor required for our food manufacturing client’s facility situated in George to supervise the day-to day operations whilst also assisting with basic maintenance. We are looking for mechanically minded individuals with supervisory experience interested in long term growth prospects with the company.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Operational Management Supervise and coordinate all depot activities, including nut intake, drying, storage, and dispatch. Ensure the depot operates efficiently and meets daily production and throughput targets. Monitor stock levels, drying schedules, and equipment utilization. Assist with the planning and execution of operational requirements as directed by management. Maintain accurate records of intake, drying, storage, and dispatch activities. Communication and Coordination Maintain effective communication with management, growers, transport providers, and depot personnel. Respond promptly to operational requirements, instructions, and communications from management. Coordinate transport arrangements and communicate schedules and requirements through management. Utilize email, WhatsApp, telephone, and other communication platforms effectively. Systems and Administration Process purchase requisitions and other depot-related administrative requirements. Capture and maintain accurate operational data and records. Become proficient in the use of Nutlogger and other company software systems. Prepare and submit operational reports as required. Logistics and Procurement Support Collect supplies, equipment, and consumables from town when required. Monitor and report inventory levels of operational supplies and consumables. Assist with procurement and stock control activities. Safety, Quality and Compliance Ensure compliance with all company policies, operational procedures, and safety regulations. Promote and maintain a safe working environment for all depot personnel and visitors. Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout intake, drying, and storage processes. Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment and report any maintenance requirements. Team Leadership and Supervision Supervise depot staff and contractors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and correctly. Provide guidance, training, and support to team members. Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Monitor employee attendance, productivity, and performance.
