Maintenance Engineer

SUMMARY:
Manufacturing company urgently seeking an individual with a in Mechanical Engineering. Solid experience in paper machine maintenance. Experience within a Heavy Engineering environment essential. This position will be responsible for all planned and unplanned mechanical maintenance. Strong leadership skills required yet willing to be hands on when needed.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements

• BSc/BTech/N.Dip. Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 years post qualification experience in heavy engineering environment.
• 2 years spent on paper machine maintenance.
• Knowledge of OHS Act.
• Shut planning and capex planning.
• Management and control of department budget.

 Responsibilities

• Mechanical maintenance activities (planned and unplanned maintenance) are conducted to ensure the availability of the paper machine.
• Asset management principles such as ‘Root cause analysis to reduce repeat failures.
• Statutory mechanical work is conducted in accordance with required legislation such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Leadership and assistance of the machine mechanical team.
