Maintenance Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Industrial Packaging Manufacturing industry requires a Maintenance Manager to join their team in Vanderbijlpark.

POSITION INFO:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Ensure that a GMR 2.1 is appointed in terms of OHASA, 1993 as amended, Section 8,9,10,12, and 13 at Vanderbijlpark.

2. Supports and participates in the implementation and Continuous Improvement of Production System.

3. Incorporates and maintains safety observances, including but not limited to, use of all PPE by employees, ensuring guards and safety features are working and promoting good daily safety practices and habits.

4. Manage OEE Downtime Buckets to within set Operational Excellence target levels.

5. Implement and manage Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program according to all GBS requirements. (Predictive maintenance).

6. Plan and implement routine preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimum machine performance/condition and maximized production runtime.

7. Plan for and ensure that maintenance tasks and machine service requirements are performed on an ongoing basis throughout the year.

8. Maintain buildings and site, and all other fixed and moveable assets in optimum condition.

9. Compile annual budgets detailing maintenance costs. Monitor and control expenditure ensuring adherence to budgetary targets.

10. Ensure engineering expertise is provided around required machine operating parameters, tooling, and related manufacturing processes in compliance to BDP and TIS.

11. Communicates goals and objectives, applies company policies, staffs, trains, develops group skills in operational excellence by coaching, administers discipline, ensures positive employee relations, administers employee performance reviews and develops/monitors personal development plans.

12. Manage 3rd party maintenance service providers in terms of safety, cost, quality & service.

13. Provide service excellence and promote a sense of teamwork, personal responsibility and ownership within your department.

14. Identify and submit justifications for capital expenditure projects, and implement approved projects through to successful completion.

15. Raising of purchase requisitions (online and manual) for maintenance related items.

16. Communicate effectively at all levels, submit accurate reports as and when required.

17. Attend daily, weekly and monthly meetings, providing input where necessary.

SAFETY

Ensure that all areas under your jurisdiction adhere to the OHS Act and the company''s international safety standards.

Key player in setting up the group policy.

Lead safety dialogues.

Inform the employees under his / her responsibility of the risks on the workstations.

Make sure that accurate PPEs comply with the tasks performed.

Make sure that Safety rules are enforce on workstations.

Report to his leader of any deviations in terms of safety, both in terms of personnel and equipment.

Is actively involved on the root cause analysis of the incidents.

Is actively involved on the Risk assessment.

Make sure that the level of training of the employees under his / her responsibility is in relation to the tasks to be performed (Certification, work permit, medical skills)

EDUCATION

Matric (Grade 12) or recognized equivalent qualification.

Appropriate tertiary qualification in maintenance management / engineering.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 10 years’ experience within a Manufacturing / production related facility.

Must understand LEAN principles.

Must have strong technical / engineering problem solving abilities

Knowledge of ERP System preferably LN, MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint & MS Access).

Knowledge of Corporate Governance Principles applicable to procurement processes.

Knowledge of Basic Conditions of Employment, MEIBC Main Agreement and Labour Relations Act.

Knowledge of the OHS Act.
