SUMMARY:

Role Overview

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance operations of the power plant. This includes managing a team of skilled technicians and ensuring that mechanical and electrical systems are operating efficiently and safely. The role plays a key part in supporting plant reliability and performance through both reactive and preventative maintenance practices.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in power plant systems, capable of aligning maintenance planning with broader operational and efficiency goals.

Key Responsibilities

 

• Manage and coordinate all mechanical and electrical maintenance systems, processes, and personnel.
• Align maintenance strategies with operational objectives to improve plant efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Lead the maintenance team in both proactive (preventative) and reactive repair work across all plant equipment and infrastructure.
• Ensure the facility operates to maximum safety, reliability, and performance standards.
• Plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules and manage capital spare parts inventory.
• Oversee the resolution of equipment breakdowns to minimize operational interruptions.
• Drive compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable environmental and labour regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments, audits, and ensure safety procedures are implemented and maintained.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records through CMMS systems.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across operations and infrastructure.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements

• Technical Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in maintenance or engineering roles within industrial/manufacturing environments.
• At least 2–4 years in a similar managerial or leadership role.
• Proven experience with boilers, steam systems, power generation equipment, and stock control.
• Competency in CMMS and understanding of preventative maintenance frameworks.
• Knowledge of General Machinery Regulations is advantageous.
