JOB SUMMARY:
An exciting new opportunity has become available for a Maintenance Planner/Buyer with our client in the automotive sector, based in Gqeberha/Port Elizabeth.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties:

Maintain an effective maintenance system as specified by ISO9000, VDA6, IATF16949 and QMS.
Manage existing preventative maintenance schedule of critical and non-critical equipment and tooling.
Share historical data of equipment and tooling with relevant contacts and establish corrective actions to reduce downtime.
Drive reduction in both mean time between failures and meantime to repair.
Provides schedules to ensure that preventative maintenance services completed timeously.
File and archive maintenance documentation as per the Quality Operating System.
Review the equipment manufacturers recommended predictive maintenance schedules from manuals provided for each existing / new place of equipment and ensure the information is correctly loaded onto the preventative maintenance system noting explicitly items.
Correlation of SPC data from production processes to preventative maintenance activities.
Be pro-active in reducing costs and improving quality as well as personnel training needs.
Audit artisans on the preventative maintenance operating system and ensure compliance.
Support the ISO50001 team with energy reduction projects throughout the plant.
List all tooling, plant and equipment on the computerized maintenance management (CMM) system.
Review reports with planning team to highlight problem areas.
Produce in-depth reports of machine downtime, if required by planning team.
Check maintenance plan and cross check with the CMM system if any services are due.
Inform Maintenance Team Leader and Production Supervisor of any impending services.
Based on this information draw up a yearly preventative maintenance plan.
For new equipment/facilities review, the manufacturer’s maintenance manuals to check what preventative maintenance recommended for existing and new equipment.

Requirements:

Matric
National Diploma Mechanical/Production or similar/related qualification
Six Sigma Green Belt will be an advantage
Project Management / MS Projects
Automotive/Technical Experience (5 Years)
Maintenance planning and work control (2 Years)
Computer literate (SAP, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Projects, Computerized Maintenance Management Programs and AutoCAD)
Quality Systems (CAD Drawings and circuit diagrams both pneumatics and electrical)
