Our client is looking for a Maintenance Superintendent to join their team in Saudi Arabia.

Job Description

• The incumbent works within the MRC Central Maintenance Organization and responsible for providing supervision, direction and support to the shift maintenance crews who are accountable for mechanical and electrical maintenance services to all production operations across MRC.
• He provides expertise and assistance to the activities of others engaged in activities related to mechanical/electrical engineering, reliability/maintenance, systems, and controls to achieve overall plant goals relating to safety, quality, throughput, and efficiency.
• Focuses on equipment reliability to drive variation from plant processes and achieve targeted goals for product quality, process output, and customer’s schedule. Manages mechanical and electrical projects and efforts and supports area maintenance team when complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis efforts are required.
• Provides 24/7 response to major plant issues including but not limited to equipment failures, equipment damage, equipment downtime.

• Adheres to EHS regulations & guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.
• Takes reasonable care for his health and safety in the workplace. He must also take reasonable care for the health and safety of others who may be affected by what he does
• Sets job safety procedure standards (JSP) and maintain safe performance of all work.
• Follows LO/TO & V standard practise for isolation of the electrical equipment.
• Contributes in reporting near misses and incidents as well as site inspection and investigation.                                   

• Lead shift crews of Mechanical and Electrical Technicians and delegate work functions to them in various areas across MRC.
• Plan and organise shift schedules for the timely completion of all maintenance activities.
• Inspect all equipment and maintenance processes and evaluate the work of subordinates.
• Organize materials and equipment needed to execute the maintenance jobs in order `to meet maintenance objectives.
• Ensures that the shift employees are punctual at the work place and carry out their jobs in a timely and efficient manner. 
• Track and control overtime worked by staff. Call in suitable technicians to cover emergency work.
• Assign suitable technicians to trouble shoot and resolve technical problems or participate himself in order to get the equipment back in running condition.
• Be prepared all the times to meet urgent or contingent requirements of the plant e.g. plant turnaround or shutdown.
• Supervise and allocate manpower for various maintenance jobs to meet the shift maintenance objectives, in accordance with work instructions.
• Manage / assist the maintenance team in case of emergency repairs / critical inspections and ensures documentation of work completed. 
• Align, implement, and provide technical support to meeting the operational reliability level specified for various units in rolling mill.
• Ensure actual tools/ equipment and man-hours are in accordance to plan and that routine job planning is updated as required.
• Participate or delegate personnel for site inspections and safety, quality or production investigations.
• Strive in implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean Manufacturing (LM) and Reliability Excellence (REX) in all the shifts.
• Coordinate with interfacing departments for effective and smooth execution of maintenance activities for the critical systems.                                                                   

• Provide the lead role in the implementation of the maintenance work processes in MRC
• Organise job training activities for all subordinates based on competency mapping and skill-gap.
• Train and provide mentorship of maintenance personnel at the rolling mill ensuring their knowledge and skills are up-to-date and industry maintenance best practices.                

• Lead and supervise the development, establishment and implementation of maintenance work control / performance monitoring procedures and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Ensure maintenance schedules are accurately implemented and maintenance reports / data are correctly entered in eAM.
• Ensure that technical maintenance and engineering reports are generated and communicated to concerned staff.         

• Develop and maintain positive working relationships within area of responsibility, and between superiors and subordinates.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical). Or Technical certificate or diploma in relevant branch of Engineering with 20 years of technical experience in a similar field.
• 15 years of relevant experience in a similar field.
• Demonstrable experience in relevant engineering, maintenance and reliability principles and practices in a rolling mill or relevant industry in engineering and maintenance fields.
• Engineering materials testing equipment and procedures and engineering systems analysis and evaluation.
• Data gathering techniques and various systems for organizing and interpreting data.

• Ability to accurately compile, interpret and apply a variety of field notes, data tables and other information to maintenance and engineering related problems.
• Computer proficiency and potential in data management, and project planning and performance of engineering functions including but not limited on MS Office software.
• Familiarity with the role of private contractors in maintenance jobs and projects.
• Ability to lead and manage multi-national team.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
• Ability to read and understand technical writing and to understand and interpret complex and technical information.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to present research findings in clear, objective, written report form.
