Maintenance Supervisor

SUMMARY:
The University of Fort Hare together seek to appoint a Maintenance Supervisor, who will be able to manage multiple demands and work outside the University office hours when necessary.

POSITION INFO:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
-    National Diploma in Building Science, trade tested/ additional training or apprentice in a technical field is advantageous
-    Five years’ experience in general maintenance or other maintenance responsibilities that would include the ability to recognize electrical, plumbing, carpentry and mechanical malfunctions or equipment failures.
-    Proven knowledge of building drawings and the interpretation thereof.
-    Thorough knowledge of the occupation hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
·         Responsible for coordinating and supervising the work of employees in the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
-     Responsible for maintaining electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry and related systems.
-     Able to manage multiple demands and work outside of office hours when necessary. -             Experience in running multi-disciplinary engineering workshops.
