Are you ready to take the helm of financial excellence? Our client, an industry-leading, award-winning firm in the UK, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Management Accountant to join their vibrant team. As a Management Accountant, you'll be at the forefront, steering a diverse portfolio of clients, from entrepreneurial ventures to internationally listed groups.

Location: Johannesburg or Cape Town (Hybrid Office Model)

Contract Term: 12-Month Annual Renewable Contract

Role Overview:

Embark on a thrilling journey where you will assume overall responsibility for a spectrum of clients, tailoring bespoke financial services that range from VAT return preparation to impactful Management Accounts and advisory work.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversee a portfolio of clients, engaging proactively to comprehend their unique financial needs and goals.
• Effectively communicate financial information in a clear and understandable manner, fostering transparent and collaborative client relationships.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly Management Accounts for clients, offering a snapshot of their financial performance.
• Produce consolidated accounts for UK operations on a monthly and quarterly basis, adhering to regulatory standards.
• Prepare financial statements under FRS102, ensuring adherence to established accounting standards.
• Compile and review monthly bank query files, meticulously reconciling multiple bank accounts within the client portfolio.
• Review monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations for clients, identifying discrepancies and ensuring financial accuracy.
• Analyze Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, promptly addressing and communicating any queries to the client portfolio.
• Ensure monthly balancing of intercompany accounts, maintaining financial integrity.
• Process month-end journal entries, encompassing Payroll, Deferred Income, Prepayments, Accruals, and other essential financial transactions.
• Compile lead schedules for Year-End Statutory Accounts, facilitating a smooth and organized year-end process.
• Draft Statutory Accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with external auditors, addressing queries related to transactional details and year-end balances.
• Review and publish supplier transactions and expense claims, contributing to the audit process.
• Compile, review, and file quarterly VAT returns with HMRC, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and present regular management reports for clients, highlighting key financial metrics and providing actionable insights.

Requirements:

• Fully qualified CA(SA) or ACCA.
• Minimum of 1-year post-article experience as a Management Accountant or similar role in a practice environment (Audit and Accounting Firm).
• Excellent working knowledge of cloud-based accounting systems, demonstrating your tech-savvy side.
• Solid technical accounting knowledge and proven experience in producing impactful Management Accounts – UK experience is a significant advantage.
• Strong communication skills and commercial business acumen to engage and enlighten clients.
• Adaptable to varying client needs with the ability to forge and nurture outstanding client relationships.
• Demonstrates a Best Practice approach to all tasks and assignments.
• Experience in debits and credits – Bookkeeping experience or understanding of the ETB preparation process is a plus.
