Manager – Budgeting, Financial Control, Reporting and Compliance , East London, 5 year contract

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Manager – Budgeting, Financial Control, Reporting and Compliance for a 5-year fixed term contract role based in East London, Eastern Cape.

POSITION INFO:
Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

• Degree in Commerce (Accounting/Finance/Business Information Systems)
• 7+ years’ work experience in budget management, financial reporting, or related area of which 3 years must be at supervisory or consultancy level

• Strategic planning and governance – identifying data that can be used; enhance/implement treasury systems, process, procedures, tools & control systems; ensure timeous reporting; implement controls; manage and support audits; participate in management forums; identify opportunities for spend effectiveness and keeping costs tightly management
• Budgeting / financial control – control budget; prepare accrual and cashflow budget; develop/maintain budget policies and procedures; prepare / review journals / recons; implement improvements in accounting function; implement correct measures; prepare drawdown requests and recon of drawdown funds; authorize payments
• Reporting / compliance – ensure standards are maintained (IFRS); develop management reporting templates; prepare executive and board level documents; prepare cost benefit analysis
• Customer / stakeholder management – build / maintain relations; gauge team performance; identify development and training needs
• People management – provide leadership and guidance; identify staff responsibilities; performance reviews; identify training needs; determine staff levels
