SUMMARY:
Our client based in Fourways is looking for a Manager Financial Modeling and Analysis to serve as a key member of a Financial Planning team that supports the company’s growing international operations.

Summary:

The Manager Financial Modeling and Analysis - Africa serves as a key member of a Financial Planning team that supports the company’s growing international operations in Africa, Europe, and Latin America (and potentially other geographies in the future).  This position will be primarily focused on delivering complex financial models and analyses to business development, as well as local market teams in the Africa region to determine the potential financial impact and financial returns of new projects, acquisitions, and other M&A activities.  Additionally, this position would also advise the local teams on any complex modeling exercises that they may perform locally and educate them on best practices.  As such, the position will provide meaningful thought leadership related to valuation and financial modeling activities within the Africa region.

During busy periods for the department, the Manager may also support the department on its other responsibilities, including financial modeling projects in Europe and Latin America, budgeting, reporting and any other miscellaneous analyses. 

 Essential Functions:

• Perform complex financial modeling of potential acquisition and business development opportunities.
• Develop long range forecasts for existing operations in Africa.
• Conduct analysis and create financial models, primarily on an ad hoc basis, for the Director of Financial Modelling and Analysis – LatAm & EMEA, the Vice President of Financial Planning – LatAm & EMA, business leaders for African markets, and senior management.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with finance peers, business development teams, and business leaders in our Africa operations.
• Advise the local financial planning teams on any financial modeling exercises that they may perform on their own, review their work and challenge assumptions to ensure that there is a consistent and thoughtful financial analysis process across all markets.
• Monitor and manage financial reporting metrics including performance tracking of recent acquisitions, new and existing business lines, variance, and trend analyses.
• Interface with Corporate FP&A team and accounting teams to answer any questions that they may have on financial models or general questions related to our transactions.

Other:

• Research and collect information on markets, customers, and industry to improve management decision-making and performance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• No direct reports initially, but this could change as business needs evolve.

Qualifications:

• Strong financial skill set with an understanding of GAAP, with working knowledge of income statements, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows. 
• Excellent financial modeling skills
• Excellent listener, as well as written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of the organization.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service and teamwork.
• Creative and analytical thinker
• Detail oriented and able to multitask, meet deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities.
• Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently.
• Maturity and ability to exercise independent discretion on matters of significance. 

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a business environment in a financial planning, business development, investment banking, or other relevant roles focused on complex financial modeling and valuation.
• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter or progress towards a charter would be viewed favorably but is not required.
