POSITION INFO:

Job Purpose

The post holder will be responsible for the Management and Implementation of innovative solutions that advance’s the mandate of the organisation and brings about convenience to the Aviation Industry. Manage the organisation’s Modernisation Projects; Advise business units on the fit for purpose technologies to their business needs.

Key Performance Areas

Business Solutions Delivery

• Identifying business needs and conduct the costs benefits analysis of implementing a business solution
• Oversee the evaluation and improvement of business processes
• Oversee the delivering Business Solutions to agreed quality, time and cost scales
• Oversee well-tested and quality assured Business Solutions
• Identify problems and address them with sufficient lead-time to avert crises

System Maintenance and Support

• Oversee the provision of efficient system maintenance and support
• Resolution of production issues
• Responding to system problems, end-user queries and maintenance requests
• Providing systems training to staff and customers
• Planning and implementing software version upgrade releases

Liaison and Coordination

• Overseeing architectural design and integration content management, portals, collaboration, business process or other solutions
• Liaise with external companies/contractors/suppliers and internal clients to coordinate services and future options
• Work with users to interpret requirements for application enhancements and creation
• Coordinate development efforts with technical staff

Supplier Contract Management

• Oversee the management of SLAs with Vendors and Business Process owners
• Ensure that the contracts/SLAs are in place and up-to-date and responsive to the needs of the organisation
• Manage suppliers within the required SLA to ensure alignment with organization

Management of Subordinates

• Ensure appointment and retention of competent staff and the management of their key performance areas to achieve their agreed objectives
• Manage staff within the complexity of skill set and skills shortages within the IT sector. Motivation and couching of the IT personnel
• Identify capacity requirements and address them

ICT Project Management

• Manage ICT Projects and oversee the adherence to the adopted Project Management Methodology
• Develop and implement ICT Project Governance Model, architecture and standards
• Develop quality assurance and compliance model of information Systems Applications
• Develop and manage system development strategy to improve business processes for the organization

Minimum Requirements

• National Diploma in Information Technology/Business Management or related qualification
• Ideal Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree or Post Graduate qualification in IT/Engineering/Business Management, Project Management will be an added advantage. PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification will be preferred
• 10 Years’ experience in ICT Project Management
• 5 Years’ experience in Management of System Development Projects        
• 5 Years’ experience in Management of Service Providers in implementing ICT Projects
• 7 years’ experience in Management of ICT Applications post implementation
