Manager: Regulatory Affairs | Midrand

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

Horizon Scanning: Monitor, capture, and review regulatory trends and developments, promptly summarizing potential impacts for affected divisions.

Legislative Influence: Collect and submit formal comments on proposed legislation to regulators, government bodies, or industry associations.

Implementation & Alignment: Oversee the creation and successful execution of implementation plans for new legislation, ensuring internal controls, policies, and processes meet legal standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit, and Operations teams to identify regulatory risks and develop robust internal procedures.

Strategic Advisory: Provide high-level advice to senior management regarding regulatory changes, risks, and emerging opportunities.

Industry Representation: Act as the group’s representative on industry bodies, committees, and forums.

Thought Leadership & Research: Conduct ad hoc research and author articles on pertinent regulatory and policy matters.

Team Leadership: Mentor, coach, and develop the regulatory affairs team to ensure they remain highly informed and equipped.

Minimum Requirements:

Experience: 7+ years of experience within the Financial Services industry.

Qualifications: A completed B.Com LLB degree.

Advantageous: Being an Admitted Attorney and/or a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) is highly beneficial.

Tech Skills: Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office.
