The main objective of this job is to be responsible for analyzing, controlling, and

managing the total costs of the Ermelo operations.

To ensure that expenses are managed within Ermelo Plant

• To be responsible for analyzing monthly actual expenses versus budget and explain both favorable and unfavorable variances.
• To implement controls that ensure that all expenses incurred are preauthorized by Lothair site manager and in terms of the authorization arrangements set within the CLIENT group.
• To ensure that the site need is calculated and necessary and cost is not excessive given need.
• To drive investigations on site to understand the costs and ensure that all costs are captured in the correct period and correct production line.
• To drive finance payment processes on site and ensure that sundry authorized payments are sent to head office 2 days prior to payment date.
• To ensure that excess sundry items purchased that is not used is timeously returned to the supplier and a supplier credit is issued. Supplier credit-note follow up must be done by person on site.
• To ensure that an envelope of current month supplier invoices is ready for collection every Wednesday for reconciliation at Head office.

To ensure that the fixed register is updated at Ermelo Plant

• To verify that the fixed asset register is updated with each new capital expenditure and capital disposal.
• To verify that the current asset register has listed all the assets that are present at Ermelo.
• To ensure that the capital expenditure form is completed and preauthorized by Ermelo site manager and Head office senior management.
• To assist with the implementation of the company fixed asset policy and procedure

To analyses the cost of sales and other costs

• To verify that the bills of material are regularly reviewed and analyzed for correctness.
• To participate in business-wide investigations and audits to understand the cost drivers.
• To complete cost analysis given assumptions provided by technical teams from sourcing the raw material to the end finished goods product.
• Providing commercial insight into variances of cost drivers and show critical trends on the site.
• Exposing core issues and generating action plans with key business partners.
• Engaging with the finance manager to develop commercial reports to provide senior management with tools to make informed business decisions
