Marketing Manager - Retail

SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the CEO and Sales Managers you will be required to develop and optimize the company marketing strategies, manage the marketing budget and liaise closely with sales to achieve predefined targets.

POSITION INFO:

Support the brand and private labels by developing structured, consistent, and effective communication platforms. In addition, you will need to provide strong support and activation to the sales team with creative and innovative sales and marketing initiatives that are effectively planned, communicated, and implemented.

Qualifications and experience:

• Tertiary qualification in sales and marketing management with additional leadership and business management development.
• Minimum 5 years of marketing communication and brand administration experience.
• Displaying a proven track record and clear experience in a Marketing management position of an established known national brand.
• National Travel may be required on occasion
• Strong organizational / project management skills
• Good knowledge of CRM and Microsoft software
• Excellent planning and time management skills
• Good understanding of business financial functioning
• Excellent communication and task management skills
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Solid customer service attitude

Key Result Areas:

• Identify suitable publications and plan and execute monthly adverts.
• Create content, structure the layout and distribute the quarterly internal company newsletter
• Coordinate and activate Facebook and LinkedIn content per month.
• Manage and administer marketing expenditure in line with approved processes and budgets.
• Overseeing branding, advertising, and promotional campaigns.
• Proof and approve packaging and marketing content
• Ensure all relevant support material are accurate and up to date on the server.
• Open, manage and close off marketing project briefs per month.
• Set up customer email database and distribution calendar to deliver emails to the company customer base.
• Preparing and presenting quarterly and annual reports to senior management.
• Prepare and present annual budgets to the management team before the end of April.
• Ensure adequate stock of standard marketing material is available.
• Maintain up to date schedules of in-store company point of sale.
• Ensure marketing expenditure is correctly allocated to GL codes
• Product usage videos are required for key lines. Put together videos and ensure they are loaded on YouTube channel and website.
• Assist in the activation of various charity initiatives.
• Manage and reply to consumer engagement on info email and social media messaging platforms.
• Assist with the planning of company functions.
