Purpose of the job:
To ensure that all electrical installation work, especially solar PV systems, is done to the highest levels of quality, safety & compliance with the law.
With travel into Africa
 

Required Qualifications – Essential

1. Trade Test Certificate - Electrician (Wireman)
2. NQF Level 3 minimum (Technical Senior Certificate or equivalent)
3. Wireman's License (valid)
4. DOL Registration as Master Installation Electrician (current & valid) Passed national exam on SANS 10142-1
5. Minimum 2 years’ experience as Installation Electrician (legal requirement for MIE)
6. Passed examination on specialized electrical installations
7. Minimum 5 years’ experience as qualified electrician
8. Minimum 2 year’s experience with solar PV installations

POSITION INFO:
Technical Competencies and responsibilities

1. Designing & setting up pf DC and AC solar PV electrical systems.
2. Installing & connecting backup systems, batteries, and inverters.
3. Attaching of distribution boards (DB boards) to solar systems.
4. Installing of changeover switches, isolators, and circuit breakers.
5. Carrying of out electrical maintenance, repairs & installations.
6. Identifying & fixing issues with electrical systems
7. Ensuring that every task conforms with SANS 10142-1 & any other applicable standards.
8. Supervising of Electricians & team
9. Planning of electrical work for installations
10. Issuing of Certificates of Compliance (CoC) for all electrical installations
