Introduction
A distributor specializing in premium alcohol brands is seeking an individual who embodies collaboration and exhibits strong leadership within a team, maintains a professional demeanor, and thrives on creative inspiration, to join this captivating position.
We are seeking an experienced Analyst with an eye for numbers and a passion for data, to join the Insights team as the Measurement & Evaluation Analyst - owning and embedding measurement and evaluation (M&E) leading practice across both the Commercial and Marketing departments of the business.
This role reports to the Insights & Innovations Manager, working closely with Marketing and Commercial management teams, to set and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) and ROI towards driving investment and activity effectiveness.
In this newly established position within the company, the perfect candidate should possess a passion for pioneering and developing this role from its inception. They should also be enthusiastic about collaborating with management and leadership teams across the organization to integrate Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) practices into all key investment areas. This role is ideally tailored for an individual with over 8 years of experience in data and analytics, demonstrating a proven history of crafting top-tier insight-driven reports. Moreover, we are seeking someone with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with substantial expertise in working with extensive datasets using a variety of data visualization tools.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Measurement & Evaluation Analyst will:
- Work with teams to define measurable KPIs across all core areas of investment; develop and embed the processes, systems and measurement frameworks required to track and measure performance; and produce best practice analytics and reporting, alongside actionable insights, to report on effectiveness of investment, campaigns, activity, and return on investment.
- Facilitate our teams to continuously improve the outcomes of their investment initiatives, and use outcomes to inform enhanced effectiveness of future activation and investment decisions.
- Establish ways of working, critical mechanisms and a standardised framework for M&E that align to, and can be embedded within, the greater business processes and culture.
- Continuously improve and evolve the M&E frameworks to incorporate key learnings and remain relevant to market best practice in driving investment and activity effectiveness.
- Close the loop on M&E requirements where Marketing and Commercial overlap occurs, by facilitating collaboration and alignment across teams as it applies to KPIs, measurement frameworks and evaluation findings.
Qualifications & Experience:
- BCom or BSc Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or equivalent
- 8+ years' experience in a Data, Analytics, Insights, or similar role
- FMCG experience, Liquor industry experience (preferable)
- Experience in a Measurement and Evaluation based role is advantageous.
- Proficiency in SQL is advantageous.
- Proficient on multiple ERP and data visualization tools, such as; Tableau, Pyramid, Power BI, Qlik, MS programs (Excel and PowerPoint), etc.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent broad statistical, analytical and data visualization skills, data modelling is advantageous;
- An inherent passion for data analysis and storytelling through numbers;
- Exceptional track record developing world class dashboard and other reporting outputs that deliver meaningful insights to inform critical decision making and drive change;
- Ability to draw on multiple information sources to unearth the real drivers of growth and performance, and extract value creating insights that are packaged in a digestible way for different audiences;
- Sound commercial acumen;
- Solid understanding of the brand marketing levers;
- Experienced at building KPIs, and tracking and measuring brand and/or business performance and ROI;
- Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and presentation;
- Experience presenting F2F to Senior teams, and comfortable to challenge and be challenged;
- Formulating and communicating recommendations grounded in data findings, and producing convincing arguments to garner buy-in;
- Sound interpersonal skills and a collaborative attitude;
- A team player who can also work independently when required;
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to scope and drive new areas of work while taking initiative;
- Workflow prioritization experience;
- Endurance and ability to tolerate extended hours;
- Meticulous attention to detail, with a proactive work ethic;
- Possess the flexibility and learning agility required to work across a variety of information sources and data visualization platforms;
- A mindset for deadline driven delivery and possesses the dexterity to work within a dynamic environment.
