SUMMARY:
An armoured vehicle manufacturer is seeking a design engineer.

POSITION INFO:
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in armoured vehicle systems to join our dynamic engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support mechanical design activities for armoured vehicle platforms and subsystems.
Create 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and assembly documentation using software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or CREO.
Perform design calculations and engineering analysis for structural integrity, ballistics protection, and mobility systems.
Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, systems, and manufacturing teams.
Support prototype builds, testing, and validation of vehicle systems.
Review supplier and subcontractor designs to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
Ensure all designs meet applicable defence standards and customer specifications (e.g., STANAG, MIL-STD).
Provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle—from concept to full-rate production.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree (BSc/BEng) or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
3+ years of experience in mechanical design within the defence, automotive, or heavy equipment sectors.
Proven experience in the design of armoured vehicles, military vehicles, or similar complex systems.
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD and PLM systems.
Knowledge of materials engineering, weldments, blast and ballistic protection systems.
Familiarity with military standards, compliance, and certification processes.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required.
