SUMMARY:
A vacancy exists in the Industrial Watertube Boiler Division, Bellville, for a person who has initiative and drive and is able to work under the pressure of handling all the mechanical engineering aspects of several major boiler projects simultaneously. The position will involve travel locally and internationally, especially in Africa and South East Asia.

POSITION INFO:
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors’ of Masters’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Professional registration with ECSA (preferred)

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 3 years relevant experience in an industrial environment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Thermal design of boilers and associated equipment
Pressure part design of boilers and associated equipment
Detail design of boilers and associated equipment
Specification of bought-out equipment related to industrial watertube boiler installations
Approve and take engineering accountability for drawings issued by the Design/Drawing Office
Engineering involvement throughout project lifecycle, from tendering/quotations, project execution, commissioning, and after-sales services

SKILLS & CHARACTERISTICS

Have a better than average academic record, especially in the fields of Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Computational Fluid Dynamics and Stress Analysis
Have a good understanding of national and international standard and regulations
Be able to interact with customers at all levels
Have excellent communication skills, both oral and written in English
Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel including VBA, Word etc.), Autodesk Inventor, Autocad, Plant 3D and Ansys Fluent
