Mechanical Designer

With over a decade of industry experience, the company specialises in developing complete systems ranging from standalone operations to fully integrated production lines. Their expertise spans palletising equipment, robotic welding, conveyors, pick & place systems, and other custom robotic applications.

With a strong focus on quality, functionality, and ease of maintenance, the company prides itself on designing elegant yet robust mechanical solutions for a range of industrial applications.

About the Role
The company is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join its dynamic team. This individual will be engaged throughout the product development lifecycle — from initial research and conceptual design to manufacturing and documentation. The ideal candidate should have a solid engineering background, proven experience in mechanical design, and proficiency in SolidWorks.

Minimum Requirements

• BEng / BSc / BTech in Mechanical Engineering
• At least 6 years of experience in mechanical part and equipment design (specifically conveyors)
• Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modelling and design)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Key Responsibilities

3D Design & Technical Documentation

• Create detailed part models, assemblies, and technical drawings using SolidWorks
• Produce high-quality renderings and assembly instructions following internal standards

Conceptual & Engineering Development

• Develop innovative mechanical system concepts
• Work with senior designers to finalise concepts into production-ready designs

Manufacturing & Quality Assurance

• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure manufacturing accuracy
• Maintain and manage Bills of Materials (BOM) within the ERP system
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards

Technical Writing & Documentation

• Prepare manuals, spare parts lists, and other technical documentation

Team Collaboration & Troubleshooting

• Work closely with project managers and fellow engineers to create effective solutions
• Identify design flaws and propose practical improvements
