🔧 The Role: Mechanical Engineer (Fire Engineering Essential)
You will take responsibility for end-to-end mechanical building-services engineering, including:
🔥 Fire Engineering (Mandatory Core Function)
- Fire Protection, Detection & Suppression system design
- Assisting with Rational Fire Design reports
- System selection, calculations and compliance with standards
❄ Mechanical Building Services
- HVAC design (concept through detailed design)
- Heat load calculations, equipment selection and system proposals
- Ducting design, reticulation layouts and relevant standards compliance
💧 Wet Services
- Hydraulic calculations
- Water reticulation system design
🛠 Consulting & Project Delivery
- Client needs analysis and site surveys
- Status-quo reporting and maintenance assessments
- Engineering reports for all project phases
- Tender documentation, BOQs, specifications and budgets
- Coordination with other engineering disciplines
- Construction monitoring and site inspections
- Managing project timelines and deliverables
- Direct client interaction and technical advisory
🎯 What You Need to Succeed
Essential Requirements:
- BEng/BSc Mechanical Engineering
- 1–5 years’ experience in a built-environment consulting role
- Fire Engineering experience is essential (not optional)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit
- Valid driver’s licence
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with clients and professional teams
