Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)

SUMMARY:
Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) with experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or similar sector

POSITION INFO:

Job Objective:

• Mechanical engineer with HVAC and various mechanical equipment experience assisting project execution, studies, feasibilities and tenders ensuring work standards are met
• Technical Design Ability - Under supervision completes technical design work using company and Client design methods, standards and data in line with Project requirements. Provision of support to designers.
• Technical Expertise - Possesses basic levels of technical expertise, however continuously work towards improving and updating technical abilities. Will personally seek out opportunities to develop technical knowledge base.
• Continuous Improvement - Working through training objectives and continuous improvement schedule via in house and external training opportunities. Working towards professional qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the engineering of all HVAC and in addition rotating equipment, mechanical handling and packaged units on assigned projects.
• Responsible for preparation of project related standards and job notes.
• Compile mechanical datasheets HVAC and in addition rotating equipment, mechanical handling and packaged units.
• Prepare requisitions for HVAC and in addition rotating equipment, mechanical handling and packaged units, indicating planned issue date for each requisition.
• Review flow sheets for correctness.
• Prepare technical bid analysis and evaluation reports for HVAC and in addition rotating equipment, mechanical handling and packaged units
• Manage suppliers of major equipment as required.
• Review supplier design and documentation to ensure they are in line with the needs of the customer and regulatory authorities within a project.
• Give guidance to client, project engineers, other specialist engineers and inspectors on HVAC and in addition rotating equipment, mechanical handling and packaged units engineering matters.
• Perform inspections and witness factory acceptance testing where required.
• Assist where necessary in the compilation of operating manuals and mechanical catalogues.
• Assist where necessary, in the construction, handover and commissioning of HVAC and in addition rotating equipment, mechanical handling and packaged units.
• Promote an enthusiastic HSSE & QA culture that delivers positive commitment to and engages all employees in continuous improvement in business performance.

Qualifications:

• BSc, BEng, BTech (Mechanical Engineering)

Knowledge, skills and experience:

• Minimum of 3 years Mechanical Engineering experience.
• Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of word, spreadsheets and discipline related application software.
• Technical Competence – in terms of core engineering theory from first principles and ability to extend theory to new equipment.
• Minimum 2 years HVAC Design and engineering experience.
