Mechanical Engineer (Maintenance)

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Agricultural sector, has an opportunity available for a Maintenance Mechanical Engineer in the Dalton, KZN area.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment – heavy industry would be an advantage
• Continuous improvement knowledge and experience
• Familiarity with Maximo systems would be an advantage 
•  

• Develop & drive improvement projects to ensure current assets are maximised to their full potential
• Provide engineering input for the Factory team in terms of equipment settings for the season e.g. Boilers, Mill Settings, Centrifugal cycle optimisation etc to the Project Engineer / Optimisation Head, including management / overseeing of on site projects and Maintenance head in terms of repairs to critical equipment / Abnormal projects etc.
• Ensure optimal performance of all mechanical equipment through rigorous maintenance practices
• Engage effectively and collaborate with key suppliers / contractors on site
• Drive Maintenance improvements to optimise efficiency and output of all mechanical equipment
• Provide engineering support for specifications and plant modifications
• Maintain effective engagement with key maintenance & engineering service level providers
