SUMMARY:
Our client is currently recruiting for a Mechanical/ Piping engineer with extensive Multidisciplinary Engineering experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals sector to provide support to our client in the development and execution of projects. The Mechanical/ Piping Engineer will be primarily responsible for the mechanical and/or piping scope of designing, planning, coordination and integration within a multi-disciplinary engineering team for the execution and delivery of mechanical / piping engineering deliverables. These deliverables must meet the accepted quality and execution requirements of the client as well as Petrochemical standards and specifications within the approved budget and schedule. The mechanical/piping engineer is also accountable for Risk management and the planning of the mechanical/piping scope for all phases of the project.
POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:
- B.Sc. Eng/ B.Eng/ B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 8 years engineering experience in the delivery of Capital Projects in a Petrochemical environment.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience gained in an Engineering Contractor’s design environment working in a multidisciplinary engineering project team.
- Thorough knowledge of Petrochemical engineering design codes (and software), policies, standards and best practices
- Computer Literacy in Caesar II, SmartPlant 3D, CAD & CFD packages, PRCI Battelle Analysis, Ansys Fluent, Matlab, Bentley
- Strong design piping/mechanical engineering with Sasol South Africa Operations (process plant and/or pipelines)
- Working knowledge of Project Stage Gates and its requirements
- Previous Sasol Partnership Contract Knowledge

Job Requirements:- Bulk of experience must be in delivery of Capital projects the Petro-Chemical environment.
- Interfacing and/or engineering working experience with Sasol as an added advantage
- Understand all aspects of projects and be able to coordinate and maximize efficiency
- Thorough management knowledge, organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Responsible for mechanical/piping engineering and design processes including planning, coordination and integration with other disciplines.
- The ability to work with multiple projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards, and best practices
