POSITION INFO:
The Employer is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Mechanical Product Engineer to join their Process Planning production team.
In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee the introduction of new vehicle models and model year changes, ensuring every unit meets exceptional quality standards from pre-series build through to full production.
You will work closely with launch teams, engineering, and quality departments to address technical challenges, improve processes, and ensure dimensional accuracy, functionality, and product stability throughout the vehicle’s lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities

Support pre-series builds and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure smooth production readiness.

Assist the launch team with facility functionality, dimensional milestones, surface quality enhancements, corrosion control, and production stability.

Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for build and audit issues.

Collaborate with Process Engineers and CFT leaders to design, modify, and implement facilities, jigs, and gauges to improve manufacturing processes.

Manage problem sheets, ensuring timely resolution and closure.

Monitor assembly stability and coordinate solutions with parts, facilities, and process teams.

Compile clear, accurate reports and presentations for senior management on quality and process improvements.
Minimum Requirements

National N Diploma / National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

3+ years’ technical experience in the automotive industry, with in-depth understanding of vehicle production processes.

Qualified Toolmaker (Tool-, Jig-, and Die-maker) with 3–5 years’ experience in jigs and fixtures; OR 3–5 years’ measuring experience in jigs and fixtures.

Ability to interpret and work from technical and fixture drawings.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an innovative approach.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present to all organisational levels.

Willingness to work overtime, shifts, and be on-call when required.
Desirable Skills
- Proficiency in German.

Experience with CATIA, CAD, Hyper KVS.

Previous Body Shop or vehicle dimensional experience.
