Mechanical Technician (4 month Contract)

SUMMARY:
A major global manufacturing company seeks a mechanical technician (4 month FTC) with no less than 15 - 20 years of experience within the Mechanical and Utilities Department.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• 15 - 20 years of experience essential
• Mechanical Trade Test essential
• Boiler certificate advantageous

• Learning, Informing, Reporting, Checking Objects
• Reviewing, Using Instruments, Teamwork, Following Instructions, Checking Written Information, performing physical tasks, using a Keyboard/Computer, Calculating/Counting

• Ensure spare parts are in good order
• Ensure all areas worked in are clean and tidy upon leaving the area.

• Identify HIRA and inform SIC to revise HIRA list
• Ensure your own safety while operating the machine and that of those assisting with operations.
• Duties to include; preventative maintenance on machines and equipment; as well as responding to emergency machine breakdowns throughout the plant.
• Involvement in the installation and movements of existing/new machines; overhaul and repair of machines and equipment, ensuring machines and equipment on site are safe, working efficiently and fit for purpose.
• Maintain process parameters & ensure the highest quality standards for equipment
• Meet or exceed the customers’ expectations
• Communicate for resolution of technical problems, reporting defective spares/equipment, coordination of job preparations, changeovers and daily shift information.
• Undertake repairs and servicing to the highest standard in accordance with work requests and pre-determined specifications
• Fault Finding, testing, and the removal or adjustment of existing fittings, fixtures and parts
• Statutory compliance from the Mechanical side. (As per IMS & Occupational Health and Safety Regulation Act.)
• Maintain basic condition of machinery and report deviations to SIC to include in abnormality list.
