MEDICAL ADMINISTRATOR Location: Roodepoort, Gauteng Position Type: Full-Time Salary: Market-Related Medical Resources Group is recruiting on behalf of our client for a professional, experienced, and reliable Medical Administrator to join their healthcare team in Roodepoort. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative and patient support, including reception duties, patient scheduling, data capturing, medical aid administration, payment collections, account management, referrals, home visit coordination, and general medical administration. This position is suited to a patient-focused and organised individual who is punctual, reliable, detail-oriented, and confident working in a busy medical environment. Key Responsibilities Patient & Reception Administration Welcome and assist patients in a professional and friendly manner Answer and manage incoming telephone calls Provide excellent telephone etiquette and patient service Schedule and coordinate patient appointments and home visits Maintain an accurate electronic appointment diary Assist patients with general enquiries and follow-ups Manage patient communication via telephone, email, and WhatsApp Manage relevant WhatsApp groups and ensure information is communicated timeously Maintain a professional, neat, and organised reception area Medical Administration Open and maintain accurate patient accounts Capture patient and clinical information accurately Maintain accurate and confidential patient records Follow up on outstanding patient information and documentation Follow up on palliative care patients and clinical reports Coordinate and follow up on medical referrals Assist with the preparation and management of clinical documentation Follow up on outstanding reports and referral documentation Assist the medical team with general administrative duties Medical Aid & Accounts Administration Verify medical aid membership and available benefits Check available medical aid funds and benefits Assist with AIMS and medical aid benefit checks Process patient payments accurately Collect patient co-payments and outstanding payments Issue receipts and maintain accurate payment records Assist with patient account queries and follow-ups Assist with medical aid-related queries and administration Ensure patient and medical aid information is captured accurately Clinical Coding & Chronic Medication Administration Apply and work with ICD-10 diagnostic codes Ensure accurate capturing of relevant clinical information Assist with chronic prescription and script administration Follow up on chronic medication-related documentation where required Maintain accurate records relating to chronic prescriptions and patient information General Administration Perform accurate and timeous data capturing Work with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel Manage incoming and outgoing emails and correspondence Maintain electronic and physical filing systems Ensure patient information is handled confidentially Provide general administrative support to the medical team Ensure all administrative duties are completed accurately and timeously Minimum Requirements Matric Certificate (Grade 12) - Essential Previous experience in a medical reception or medical administration environment - Essential Good knowledge of ICD-10 codes - Essential Experience with medical aid benefit checks and administration Experience with patient accounts, payment collections, and co-payments Knowledge of chronic prescriptions and related administration Experience with patient scheduling and appointment management Strong data capturing skills Computer literate with experience in: Microsoft Office Microsoft Outlook Microsoft Excel Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills Strong administrative and organisational skills Excellent attention to detail Ability to maintain patient confidentiality Reliable and punctual Own reliable transport will be advantageous Personal Attributes Professional, friendly, and patient-focused Reliable and dependable Punctual and well organised Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Able to work efficiently under pressure Comfortable dealing with patients, medical professionals, and service providers Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively Able to work independently and as part of a team Proactive and willing to assist where required Positive and professional attitude Working Hours Monday - Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30 Friday: 07:30 - 14:00 Saturday: As required by the practice To Apply: Subject Line: Medical Administrator - Roodepoort If you do not receive feedback within 2 weeks, please consider your application unsuccessful.
